Players then play the rest of the game normally and when the game ends, Ciri then takes the throne and rules of Nilfgaard and the North, as Emhyr waged war and conquered the northern kingdoms. Players can refuse or accept this payment if they choose, however, taking the money disappoints Ciri who thinks you've sold her out, and can result in a bad ending. Emhyr then offers payment to Geralt for completing his job and then has a few words with Ciri in private. In order for Ciri to become Empress, Geralt needs to follow Emperor Emhyr's instructions and take her to visit him at the earliest possible opportunity.
